Emalie Cockrell

Content Editor and Writer for Backstory Boon

Contributing Writer for Backstory Boon

Emalie is one of the Pride’s content creators. From a very young age, she developed a voracious appetite for reading, and began writing stories, articles, and even newsletters for her family and friends. Not surprisingly, she attended the University of Arkansas and earned a degree in English and Creative Writing. While at the university, she worked as a writing tutor, counseling students through the writing process, from creating a strong outline to polishing the final draft. Her background in fiction writing gives her a strong sense of story and narrative. She believes every client has a unique story that will captivate their audience and help them sell their message, product, or service. In content creation, her specialty is lifestyle or culture-building content.

When she isn’t writing for work, Emalie writes for the joy of it. She writes creative essays, short stories (some hopefully forthcoming in literary journals), and is currently working on her first novel. She is also a committed outdoorswoman: she loves trail running, hiking, backpacking, skiing, mountain biking, and occasionally rock climbing. She has a tattoo from J.R.R. Tolkien’s literary canon, speaks rudimentary Mandarin Chinese, and is trying to understand the nuances of wine. She lives in Fayetteville with her husband, Connor, and their adventure dog, Karhu.
